An opt-in cross-fade between light and dark, so the page changes in one smooth step instead of every component jumping on its own. Browsers without support and people who prefer reduced motion get the instant switch, and the first paint is never animated.

sv5ui stopped using mode-watcher in 2.9.0 and will stop installing it. Apps that still import it directly will need to install it themselves or switch to the functions sv5ui exports, which store preferences under the same keys.
Dates are deliberately absent. An item is here because it is being worked on, not because it is promised for a particular week, and anything on this page can still change before it ships. To follow a specific piece of work, open its issue on GitHub.
